Gordon Wins Fourth Road Course Race in a Row
Jeff Gordon was able to hold off a late race charge by Mark Martin to
claim his fourth straight road course win. Gordon, who was fighting a sore
throat, beat Martin to the finish line by only .196 seconds. After
finishing second for three races in a row, Gordon finally broke through to
take his fourth win of the 1999 season and the 46th in his career. Gordon started from the pole and led 80 of the 112 laps.

Gordon Rolls to the Pole at Sears Point
Jeff Gordon raced to his fifth pole position of the season, taking the top starting spot for the Save Mart/Kragen 350 at Sears Point. Gordon's lap of 71.219 seconds, at 98.519 mph was about two-tenths of a second slower than his track record, which he set last season. Gordon will be joined on the front row by rookie phenom Tony Stewart, Jerry Nadeau and Rusty Wallace make out row two.
