Polaris Signs with Team Ford Racing

MINNEAPOLIS Oct. 28, 1999 -- Polaris has signed on as a "Crew Member"--or marketing partner--with Ford Motor Company and its imaginative new "Team Ford Racing" program.

Team Ford Racing (TFR) will provide members with several exclusive benefits, including insider information about Ford racing programs and activities, opportunities to participate in TFR activities at events such as NASCAR Winston Cup races, and merchandise offers from "Crew Members" such as Polaris.

TFR members are eligible for 10% mail-in rebates on Polaris clothing. Members will also learn about new Polaris apparel through TFR mailings and on-line at the group's members-only web site.

"Motorsports fans are our customers," said Ed Skomoroh, Polaris Vice President, Marketing. "They love performance, competition, and technological excellence. Our participation in the Team Ford Racing program will expose TFR members to Polaris products that reflect all three of those traits."

Membership in TFR will be open to all motorsports enthusiasts, and in exchange for their annual membership fee they will receive membership materials, access to the secured TFR web site, TFR mailings with racing information, and merchandise offers from Crew Members such as Polaris. There will also be TFR involvement at select NASCAR Winston Cup races starting in the 2000 season.

Member benefits include:

"Inside Access" - where members will get the scoop on Team strategies, driver preparations, "tweaks" to the cars, and much more for every series Ford participates in - NASCAR Winston Cup, CART, Formula 1 and NHRA events. In addition to late-breaking news, driver quotes, race results, photos from the track and weekend wrap-ups, members can also participate in discussion groups and chat rooms - with the drivers, pit crew members, managers or Team Ford Racing officials as well as fellow members.

"Exclusive Team Ford Racing Merchandise & Apparel" - an exclusive line of Team Ford Racing merchandise and apparel has been developed such as t-shirts, polo shirts, denim shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, key rings, travel mugs and more. Charter members will also have the opportunity to purchase exclusive charter member merchandise and apparel.

"Exclusive Access to Team Events" - The first exclusive event for Team Ford Racing members is the 2000 Daytona 500. Tickets for this sold-out race will be available for purchase and will include seating in the Team Ford Racing grandstand, optional hospitality tent and more. The Team Ford Racing newsletter and web site will have news about the other events being planned...some including appearances by Team Ford Racing drivers and officials.

The TFR program was officially introduced in September. Program details and membership applications will be available from Team Ford Racing at 1-877-TFR-CLUB or on the internet at www.teamfordracing.com through the mail, in advertisements, and in point-of-purchase displays at Ford dealerships.
