Competed in the NASCAR Busch Series fulltime in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, finished sixth in final standings with two
wins, 11 top fives and 17 top 10s.
In 2002, finished 10th in the final standings en route to Raybestos Rookie of
Year honors. Posted two wins, at Nashville and Fontana, and two poles. Prior to the NASCAR Busch Series, Riggs competed
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Made two starts in 1999, then competed fulltime in 2000 and 2001.
Finished 20th as a rookie in 2000.
In 2001, finished fifth in final standings with five wins and 14 top-five finishes
in 24 starts. His victory total ranked second in the series, trailing only Ted Musgrave, who had seven.
NOTEWORTHY
Riggs was a top Late Model Stock Car driver in NASCARs Mid-Atlantic Region. Also a two-time champion of Southern
National Speedway in Kenley, N.C., where he amassed 60 career victories.
He also has competed in the NASCAR
Southeast Series, posting eight top-10 finishes in 13 races during the 1998 season.
