Charley Pressley Signs As Team Manager for Midwest Transit

HARRISBURG, N.C. - MidWest Transit Racing has signed Charley Pressley as their team manager, effective immediately.

Pressley and MidWest Transit Racing driver Ricky Craven previously worked together at Larry Hedrick Motorsports during the 1996 Winston Cup season. Craven believes the addition of Pressley will enhance their at-track performance instantly.

"Charley and I worked well together at the No. 41 car," Craven said. "I believe his knowledge of a racecar combined with his management skills can only make us a better, stronger team.

"This move by MidWest Transit Racing shows their commitment to building a strong race team. I believe we now have all the major components in place except a primary sponsor. This will show potential sponsors we are serious about our program."

Pressley grew up in a racing family and sees the same traits in Craven that he saw in his own father.

"My dad was a winner and I see the same qualities in Ricky," Pressley said. "We need to address our weak areas so that we can begin building a better race team.

"We understand we won't be contending for a championship next year. We need to have attainable goals and then meet them or even surpass them."
