DAVID GILLILAND, YATES RACING
No. 38 FreeCreditReport.com Ford Fusion
TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY
APRIL 27, 2008
Quoting Driver, David Gilliland:
You have a strong record at Talladega, heading into this weekend, is there an increased level of confidence?
“We’ve been looking forward to Talladega since the season started. Talladega is where I was fortunate enough to achieve my career-best finish and we seem to run well there as an organization. There are always a lot of things that can happen out of your control at Talladega, so as a driver, you just have to be aware of what’s happening around you. I’m very excited to have FreeCreditReport.com as our sponsor for this weekend as well because it brings a lot of confidence to the entire team heading into this weekend. The car for this weekend ran really well at Daytona earlier this season but we weren’t able to get the finish this car deserved. Our goal is to bring home another great finish so that we can continue to showcase the tremendous talent our Yates Racing organization has.”
Quoting Crew Chief, Cully Barraclough:
What is your focus for this weekend heading into Talladega?
“Handling is never really one of our main concerns when we go to Talladega. We’re always searching for speed when we travel to Talladega and I know that we’ve been working really hard leading up to this weekend. The engine shop has spent a lot of time making sure that we always have the best engines possible, especially for this weekend, so I think we’re going to fair pretty well. We progressively keep getting better every week and I’m looking forward to this weekend. One of the main things is to stay out of trouble and being able to avoid “the big one” so that we’re there at the end of the race. David has had a lot of strong performances at Talladega so it should be a great race for our team.”
