Crown Royal Presents the Dan Lowry 400 - Patrick Carpentier Notes

No. 10 LifeLock Dodge Charger
Richmond Int’l Raceway Preview

Sprint Cup Series rookie Patrick Carpentier will see his third short-track of the season at Richmond Int’l Raceway this weekend. The open wheel veteran’s prior experience in NASCAR’S short-track trenches came at Martinsville when he finished 29th.

Carpentier has put on a stellar show in the qualifying sessions this season. He has qualified for the last four consecutive races on speed. In fact, the Quebec-native has started every race that he’s had a chance to qualify for, excluding the Daytona 500.

The LifeLock Dodge is 41st in Owner Points after Talladega and is 197 points outside of the top-35.

TV and Radio Times: Qualifying is set for Friday at 5:30 p.m. (ET) on SPEED TV and MRN Radio. Race time on Saturday is 7:30 p.m. (ET) on Fox and MRN Radio.

DRIVER PATRICK CARPENTIER QUOTES:

WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM TALLADEGA? “Talladega was fun but it was a long day for the LifeLock Dodge. On a positive, we brought the car home in one piece and at Talladega that’s certainly an accomplishment. I got more seat time at a restrictor plate track too, which is always good. I know we have some work to do with our restrictor plate program. But we made the race which puts us a step ahead of those guys who went home.”

ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO RICHMOND? “Richmond will be a new experience for me in a stock car. I was there in the IRL in 2005 and finished third. I know it will be much different experience in the LifeLock car this weekend. When you enter the corners in an open-wheel car, the car immediately sets and you’re off through the corner. But in a stock car, the car never seems to set in the corner so you really have to tip-toe through there. It’s funny because people say that stock car racing is just turning left, but let me tell you I’ve spent a lot of time turning left, then right and left again this year.”

A LITTLE HELP “I have such strong support here at Gillett Evernham Motorsports. Even though I may be going to new tracks, the information that I get from my teammates, team directors, engineers and the crew is so helpful. Each week I know that we are going to be as prepared as possible for getting in the race and then focusing on the race. There is a great sense of team at GEM.”
