UAW-Dodge 400 - David Gilliland Notes

DAVID GILLILAND, YATES RACING
No. 38 FreeCreditReport.com Ford Fusion
LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
MARCH 2, 2008

Quoting FreeCreditReport.com Driver, David Gilliland:
Heading into Las Vegas this week, what are you looking at coming off your finish at Fontana?
“I feel really good going into Vegas this week. I think that our test was better in Vegas than it was at California, so I’m really excited about going back there. We had some really good runs at Vegas last year which turned out to be pretty fast. Our team is looking forward to taking our FreeCreditReport.com Ford Fusion there this weekend and putting in the car what we learned this past weekend at Fontana. I feel that what we were able to learn at Fontana we can translate over this weekend and have an even stronger finish than the 17th-place finish we secured last weekend.”

What do you enjoy about racing at Las Vegas?
“I really enjoy Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s a very fast track with a lot of grip and if you’re fortunate enough to have a great car then you can really, really, go. Racing at Las Vegas is always a lot of fun and it’s a stop on the season schedule that I truly enjoy being able to race at. Las Vegas is still fairly close to the section of California I grew up in so we tend to have a lot of our fans out here when we travel out West and that is an aspect that I look forward to this weekend.”

Quoting FreeCreditReport.com Crew Chief, Cully Barraclough:
“I’m really looking forward to Las Vegas this weekend. We had a really great run this past weekend at Fontana, and I’m very proud of David and the crew. There’s nothing like being able to finish in the top-20, especially after such a long weekend. Our goal for this weekend at Vegas is to perform even better than we did last week. We were very happy with our test session when we were here back in January, and we feel confident that we learned a lot during those two days that will help us to have a very successful car this weekend. Vegas is a fast track and the banking is an element that we focused on during our test in order to make sure the car was handling well in the turns.”
