Coca-Cola 600 - Lowe's Motor Speedway

Two in a Row at Lowe's Motor Speedway for Kahne
For Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle, the finish of Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600 was a replay of the May 17 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Challenge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Kahne took the checkered flag with Biffle chasing him for the final three laps, but what happened in the first 397 laps of the 400-lap marathon featured more subplots than an Agatha Christie novel. Seizing the moment when Tony Stewart blew a tire while leading on Lap 397, Kahne streaked to the finish 10.203 seconds ahead of Biffle, who recovered from a loose wheel and a lost lap early in the race to claim the runner-up spot.

Kyle Busch Nails Down Coca-Cola 600 Pole
After capturing the pole position for the All-Star race last weekend, Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole for Sunday evening's Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway as well. Busch turned in a fast qualifying lap of 29.121 seconds, at an average speed of 185.433 mph, to nail down his fourth pole in 126 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts. This is Busch’s second pole of the year, not counting the All-Star pole. His previous points-paying pole position this season came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The top start is Busch’s first pole and first top-five start at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. He had only one other top-10 start in his LMS career – a sixth-place start in the 2005 Coca-Cola 600. Kasey Kahne qualified in 29.142 seconds, at an average speed of 185.300 mph, and will start second on the gird. This ios Kahne's seventh top-10 start of 2008 and sixth at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Brian Vickers qualified in the third position, posting his second top-10 start of 2008 and second at LMS. Sam Hornish Jr. (20th) was the fastest of the drivers required to make the field on time as well as the fastest qualifying rookie.
