DARLINGTON RACEWAY

Quoting FreeCreditReport.com Driver, David Gilliland:
What are the challenges to racing at Darlington this weekend?
“I’m looking forward to going to Darlington this weekend. Darlington is a fun track to race at especially since they just repaved the track surface, we’re not entirely sure how it will behave when we go out there for our first practice. The track used to be so incredibly rough, which always presented a challenge from a driver’s standpoint as well as a crew standpoint, in order to be able to get your car to handle well in those conditions. In talking to some of the other drivers who recently tested there however, I’ve heard that it’s the same track and layout of course, but now the surface is a lot smoother to race on. I’m really looking forward to this weekend and facing a new challenge to see how our FreeCreditReport.com team performs on this new surface.”
Quoting FreeCreditReport.com Crew Chief, Cully Barraclough:
What are your thoughts on the change in the track surface at Darlington?
“Our team is looking forward to Darlington this weekend because it’s a race track that is close to home and I know that we really enjoy the feel of Saturday night racing. With the recent repaving that took place at the track, we’re not sure how the cars will handle there this weekend, but I’ve heard that the surface is now very smooth and a bit faster than it had been in the past. Darlington had a reputation as being a track which was very challenging in regards to tire wear and handling due in part to the roughness of the track. It will be interesting to see how practices go this weekend and I know that our goal is to bring home a strong finish for our FreeCreditReport.com team.”
