Busch Discusses Racing at Daytona International Speedway
Are you excited to be back in Daytona for the start of a new season?
“Oh yeah, for sure. We’re definitely excited to be back down here. There’s been a lot going into getting ready for the new year, and it’s nice to finally get here and get on the track. Things have been going well with the new team and our new sponsor, M&M’S. This offseason didn’t really feel like an offseason at all. We were busy the whole time getting everything figured out for this year. It was fun but I’m ready to get back to racing. We’ve got a lot going on with all of our stuff with the Cup and Nationwide and Truck series, so it’s going to be a busy weekend here in Daytona and the rest of the season. But I love racing so that’s why we’re doing it. Hopefully we can get going here in Daytona and get a good start to the season and show what all three of these teams are made of.”

What kind of race do you think we’re going to see on Sunday with these new cars?
“Well, it’s definitely going to be different than what we’ve seen here before. Through practice and the (Bud) Shootout, the cars have been dancing around some so you have to stay up on the wheel all the time. I don’t know if this race is going to be better or worse than what we’ve had here in the past. It’s hard to say if the fans will see much of a difference or not from where they’re watching the race. These cars are staying together in a pack still, so getting caught up in the ‘Big One’ is always going to be a possibility. I think it’ll still be an exciting race no matter what. I mean, it’s the 50th Daytona 500 and you’ve still got the best drivers and race teams in the world competing in one of the biggest races ever. We’ve just got to settle in and keep our nose clean. If we can stick around until the end, I think we’ll be in good shape for a strong finish.”
