Budweiser Shootout - Tony Stewart Notes

Tony Stewart
Daytona International Speedway
Bud Shootout

Budweiser Shootout car – Chassis No. 199:
This is a brand new car that has never turned a wheel on a race track. It has, however, been tested numerous times in the wind tunnel. After the Shootout, Chassis No. 199 will serve as the No. 20 team’s backup for the Daytona 500.

Daytona 500 car – Chassis No. 153:
This is a relatively old Car of Tomorrow chassis. Prior to making its debut at Talladega last October – where it started 11th and finished eighth after leading four times for 38 laps before getting shuffled out of the draft on the final lap – Chassis No. 153 was tested on numerous occasions and served as a backup at many venues, but never raced. In preparation for Talladega, it tested at the 2.66-mile oval Sept. 10-11. Since competing at Talladega, Chassis No. 153 has been a regular in the wind tunnel. Its most recent test came at Daytona Jan. 14-16, where it posted the sixth quickest time overall among single-car runs (48.624 seconds at 185.094 mph).
