Local motorists who pulled into the Sunoco gas station at 1227 S. Main Avenue in Scranton Thursday morning received a surprise greeting from the Allstate Safety Patrol and members of NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler’s No. 19 Pit Crew.

The Allstate Safety Patrol was on the lookout for safe drivers who were wearing their seat belts and rewarded them with a $20 gas card. Motorists filling up with fuel had the chance to receive a VIP ‘pit stop’ from No. 19 Pit Crew, including a complimentary windshield cleaning and tire glossing. The initiative helped promote Allstate’s Safe Driving Bonus Check, which allows customers an opportunity to earn a check of up to five percent of their premium for every six months of accident-free driving.

Members of the No. 19 pit crew are in the area for Sunday’s Pocono 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway.
