TUMS Top 10 Moments from Darlington

DRIVERS EARN THEIR ‘STRIPES’ AT DARLINGTON TO TAKE THE TOP SPOT IN THE TOP 10 TUMS® MOMENTS

DARLINGTON, S.C., (May 13, 2008) – The 11th stop of the 2008 season at Darlington Raceway had the stars of the Sprint Cup Series experiencing heartburn. From engine and tire troubles to several brushes with the wall, a fair share of big-name drivers had several TUMS moments. Each weekend PRN lead anchor Doug Rice picks the Top 10 TUMS Moments from the weekend’s racing activities.

This week’s Top 10 TUMS honors go to:

10. Jimmie Johnson wrecks two cars before the race starts; fortunately, the Lowe’s Chevy was able to salvage a 13th place run.

9. Elliott Sadler just gets up to speed before tangling with Tony Stewart and then spends most of his time in Darlington parked in the garage watching the world race by.

8. The good news for Kyle Petty is that he makes the race; the bad news is that Kyle is involved in the first two cautions and then limps to a 41st place finish.

7. The folks at Roush Fenway Racing might feel a little queasy and need some Tums after Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and David Reagan all reported bad vibrations in the their cars during the race.

6. Ryan Newman falls out of the all-important top 12 in points after a rough day at “The Lady In Black” as the Alltel Dodge finishes 37th.

5. Kevin Harvick finishes 39th and drops four places in the point standings - all the way to ninth.

4. Tony Stewart starts fourth but the lap two incident with Elliott Sadler sentences Stewart to a 21st place run. Tony is still looking for his first cup win at Darlington.

3. All the race fans thought they were going to witness a crash-fest at Darlington but instead saw a relatively calm affair with only eight cautions.

2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the early laps of the race, but his winless streak grows to 73 races as he has to settle for fourth.

1. Greg Biffle wins the pole on Friday, but Saturday night he is the only driver not running at the end of the event. A combination of loose wheels and a sour power plant doom Biffle to 43rd.

Stayed tuned each week for the Top 10 TUMS Moments to see what drivers and teams are most in need of TUMS fast relief.
