Jeff Gordon Calls on Fans for Help with New Club Logo

Driver announces fan design contest for Jeff Gordon Network logo in conjunction with renowned NASCAR artist Sam Bass

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 31, 2008)— On Friday, Jeff Gordon announced a new initiative to create a fresh identity for his popular fan club, the Jeff Gordon Network. Through June 2, fans can participate in the Jeff Gordon Network Fan Logo Design Contest by submitting logo ideas and concepts to www.JeffGordon.com.

“When we decided it was time for a new logo and brand image for my fan club, I really wanted the fans participation,” said Gordon. “This logo will be for the fans, by the fans.”

The four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will have a hand in selecting the winner, along with renowned motorsports artist Sam Bass. After the winning concept is chosen, Bass will then lend his design expertise by developing the concept into the official Jeff Gordon Network brand identity for 2009 and beyond.

"I have really enjoyed working with Jeff since I designed his original 'RainbowWarrior' car in 1992, all the way up to his current ‘Fire n’ Flames’ paint scheme” said Bass. “He is very much involved in every design project I do for him and his sponsors, which I like. This logo contest with Jeff and his fans should be a great deal of fun and I'm really looking forward to it."

The Jeff Gordon Network Fan Logo Design Contest opened today on Gordon’s official website, www.JeffGordon.com. Fans can submit their design inspirations until June 2, 2008 and are encouraged to enter multiple concepts. The finalists will be announced on the website on June 24 with the Grand Prize winner announced on September 8.

With every great contest comes a great prize, and Gordon made it known this would be no exception.

“We want to give the winner a race fan experience that they’ll never forget, and what better place to do that than in Charlotte—the home of Hendrick Motorsports,” said Gordon.

The Grand Prize will be a trip for the winner and a guest to Charlotte for a VIP race experience during the Bank of America 500 race weekend in October. Along with private tours of the Sam Bass Gallery and the No.24/48 Race Shop, the winner and their guest will also meet both Bass and Gordon during a ceremony unveiling the logo. The Grand Prize package also includes a special race day experience at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, merchandise gift packs and lifetime memberships to the Jeff Gordon Network.
