How was your race today?
"The race was going along pretty good. We were on a pretty different strategy than a lot of the teams, which put us near the front for a few of the restarts. It was good to get up there and battle for the lead. The guys did just an awesome job and gave me such a good car. I'm just disappointed with how we ended up. We had a top-15 car today, and I was hoping that we could've finished up there, but that's how racing is. Those things sometimes happen."

What happened that put you off-track late in the race?
"I just got ran into from behind. We were running along in the top-20 or so, and we were trying to make some moves on the guys in front of us, but we got tagged from behind and sent off the track. That's definitely not how I wanted to end the race, but I am just thankful for the opportunity to run here. I can't thank Michael (Waltrip, team owner) enough for the chance to drive this car."

Can you talk about your race today?
"The race was going to be pretty good. Our car got better and better as the race went on, and we really didn't make that big of changes. I think if we had a longer green flag run at the end of the race, we would've ended up with a top-15. The track was pretty slick out there with all of the cars off the track, but that's what you deal with at a road course."

How did it feel to get out there and lead some laps? "It was awesome to get out there and lead a couple laps. It's been a while since we were out front, so it was nice to get out there and mix it up. These road course races always turn into strategy games, and today, we just got unlucky. I was just hoping we could've gotten a little bit better finish for the guys. We had a pretty good car here, and that's encouraging."

What was the race like with the Car of Tomorrow?
"It was a typical road course race. There was an adjustment period early in the weekend getting around the track with the new car, but once the race started, everyone seemed to get used to it. You have to change your driving style a little bit to adjust to the new car, since it doesn't turn as well as the old car, but it's the same for everyone."

Do you think the car played a part in so many incidents?
"I'm not sure it's as much of the car as it is the drivers. All the guys out here are doing what they need to do to fight for every spot, and with that, things are bound to happen. These road course races always have a lot of beating and banging in them, and today was no different."
