KASEY KAHNE QUOTES:
“My first NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victory came at Richmond, so I always look forward to going back. It’s a great race track and very competitive. It would be nice if we were battling for a spot in the Chase as we have a couple of times, but that’s not the case this year. This race and the final 10 are still very important to our No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger team as we continue to improve the performance of the Avenger which will be used at all races next year.”

QUICK FACTS

  • Richmond was the site of Kahne’s first career victory in the spring of 2005. He led 242 laps en route to victory.
  • After two back to back top-10 finishes over the last two races Kahne has gained two spots in the Series point standings and now sits 21st.
  • Kahne qualified fifth in the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger at Richmond earlier this year.
  • Kahne has three top-10 starts in seven career races at the .75-mile short track.
  • Kahne is in his fourth season with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He posted a series-high six wins last year and earned a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
