DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 29th) – “We had a pick-up of a tenth or so from practice. I wish we could have run a .60 or something, but we’ve got a pretty good race car, I think. It hurt me a little bit jumping out of the Busch car back to the Cup car, but we’re racing for tomorrow.” WAS BEING THE FIFTH CAR OUT A BAD THING? “It depends on how cool it gets. Usually it would hurt us a lot more, I don’t think it’s gonna hurt much. Maybe a little but not much.”

RICKY RUDD – No. 88 Pedigree Ford Fusion (Qualified 11th) – “We’re happy. This is a different race car than we tested. After we tested they took the car back and made some pretty drastic moves. I mean, they didn’t just tweak on it, they made some major chassis changes. We didn’t know what we had. They thought it was gonna be good on paper, but I’ve heard that before. The results speak for themselves. We’ve got a really good race car here this week. This Pedigree car is really good.”

CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Qualified 2nd) – “That was a good lap for us. I can’t thank my guys enough. I went out in the Busch car and I screwed it up pretty bad and we finished 12th or something, so I said I was just going to do everything I could to not get too much. Hopefully, it stays for a top five or something. That would be a great starting spot for us. This place, I think with these cars, track position and pit selection are gonna be important.” ARE YOU HAPPY? “That was a good run. That’s a great big step for us and hopefully it holds up for a top four or top five and have a good race. It’s so much fun when it’s going well and so frustrating when it’s not, so, hopefully it’s a good start.” WILL IT BE HARDER TO PASS WITH THESE CARS? “I think with the car of tomorrow it’s gonna be a little bit tougher to pass. It was for me at Phoenix, so for us this qualifying was huge because we’ll get to start up front.”
