David Stremme and the No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Team Facts:
Best Yet: Stremme is coming off of a memorable race at Texas Motor Speedway in the Samsung 500 Sunday that concluded with a career best 10th-place finish for the 29-year-old racer. His previous best was 11th (twice last season, and this year’s Daytona 500).
Drive for Dodge: Stremme’s 10th place finish in Texas, along with Juan Pablo Montoya’s eighth, marked the two highest finishing positions for Dodge and also helped the No. 40 crew maintain its status as the highest ranking Dodge team in the NEXTEL Cup Series.
Ganassi Dodges: Through seven rounds of the 2007 NNCS season, CGRFS cars have been the highest finishing Dodge drivers in three of those races (Atlanta-Montoya, Bristol-Stremme, Texas-Montoya).
Back in the Hunt: Stremme’s 12th-place ranking also means he’s currently eligible for the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. He and the No. 40 CGRFS Cup team stand 12th in the championship rundown with 779 points and are just 26 steps outside the top 10. Following race No. 26 at Richmond, the top 12 drivers are eligible to compete for the series title during the final 10 races.
Blowin’ Doors Off: Stremme has an astounding 604 Green Flag Passes, fourth-most out of all NNCS drivers in 2007.
Play it again, Stremme: Stremme will climb back in the Wrigley’s Winterfresh Dodge this weekend to make his second Busch Series start in the No. 41 CGRFS Dodge this season, which will also mark his third-career start for the CGRFS Busch program. Stremme’s last run with the No. 41 Wrigley’s team at Nashville Superspeedway earlier this month was highlighted with him scoring his second-career NASCAR pole and then an 11th-place finish.
