David Stremme and the No. 40 Energizer Dodge Team Facts:
Energizer on Board… The No. 40 Dodge will sport the Energizer® e2® Lithium® paint scheme for a third time this season at New Hampshire. Stremme drove the scheme previously at the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway (finished 13th) and last weekend at Richmond (finished 19th). The dynamic silver and blue paint scheme will feature Energizer® e2® Lithium, the World’s Longest Lasting Battery in High Tech Devices, alongside the famous Energizer Bunny®.
Quit While You’re Ahead: Stremme took an interest in working on racecars in his family's garage before competing in the Street Stocks Division in 1993 in South Bend, Ind., and his first victory came at New Paris Speedway, in his mother's Street Stock car. But once officials found out he was only 15 years old, he was forced to quit racing. Once legal, Stremme made up for lost time, posting 24 feature victories, two rookie of the year titles and two track championships in just four years.
Through 26: With just 10 races remaining on the NNCS season, Stremme has 7219 of 7399 laps completed (97.6%), one lap led and has moved up 11 positions from where he stood a year ago heading into Loudon. His average starting and finishing position of 24th is also two positions better than where it was in 2006 (26th).
Chassis: Crew chief Steve Lane and the No. 40 team have selected chassis #747 for this weekend. This is a new CoT that will see competition for the first time this weekend.
Points Update: After scoring the team’s 10th top-20 finish in Richmond last weekend, Stremme maintained the 23rd position in the NEXTEL Cup Series driver standings.
