Reed Sorenson Advance
New Hampshire International Speedway
Race: New England 300 on Sunday, July 1
Track: New Hampshire International Speedway (1-mile oval)
Location: Loudon, N.H.
Reed Sorenson and the No. 41 Target Dodge Team Facts:
Magic Mile Moment: Sorenson had one of the best performances of his rookie season in last year’s Lenox Industrial Tools 300 at NHIS. After qualifying ninth, Sorenson ran in the top-five for more than half of the 300 laps and led a total of 31 laps. Headed for at least a third-place finish, an untimely last-lap caution forced the Target team to pit for fuel prior to a green-white-checkered finish, relegating Sorenson to 24th.
Busch Crew Chief Swap: CGRFS announced Wednesday it is making crew changes to its No. 41 Wrigley’s and No. 42 Texaco/Havoline NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) teams. Crew chief Brad Parrott and his crew will move over to work on the No. 41 Dodge with drivers Reed Sorenson, David Stremme, Scott Pruett and Bryan Clauson, while crew chief Brian Pattie and his team will now work with drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Kevin Hamlin in the No. 42 Dodge effective this weekend NHIS.
Target Vendor Day: Sorenson, along with his Team Target teammates Scott Dixon and Dan Wheldon (IndyCar Series), spent the day at Target headquarters in Minneapolis helping promote the race program(s) and the benefits of motorsports sponsorships during Target Vendor Day. The event is a forum for all of Target’s partners to highlight their products, upcoming promotions and events.
Points Update: The Target team is currently 27th in the overall NEXTEL Cup Series standings. The team is 175 points out of the top 20 and 434 out of 12th – the final transfer position for the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup.
Chassis: Crew chief Jimmy Elledge and the Target team have selected chassis #732 for the race at NHIS. This car was previously used in Dover on June 3 (27th-place finish).
Be Sure to Tune In: The Lenox Industrial Tools 300 is set to go green at 2:30 p.m. ET Sunday. The race will air live on TNT, MRN radio and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128 (Live, 1 p.m. ET)
