“I can’t wait to get back on track at Loudon. Last week was a blow to this whole Valvoline Evernham Racing team but we didn’t drop very far in the points and we are still in the thick of this battle to make it back inside the top 35. Nobody has done that since it went to 2007 owners points after Bristol and our goal is to be the first. I get some extra time on the track this weekend with the Busch car, although the setups differ the extra track time can’t hurt.”

Scott Riggs finished 10th in the spring Nextel Cup race at New Hampshire last year.
Riggs’ best finish of the 2007 season came in a COT race at Martinsville this spring, where he came home eighth.
Based on Valvoline Evernham Racing’s position in Nextel Cup Owners Points, the team will need to qualify for this weekend’s race on time.
Riggs will be pulling double duty this weekend, driving the No. 9 Wisk Dodge in the Busch Series race as well.
Riggs currently sits 36th in Nextel Cup Owners points, only 83 markers outside of the top 35.
