Scott Riggs
No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Avenger Race Facts
Nextel Cup Series --- Martinsville Speedway

Engineer: Chad Johnston
Team/Owner: Valvoline Evernham Racing

SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
“Martinsville is hand to hand combat in tight quarters, it’s a drag race up and down the straight-aways and it’s easy to overdrive the corners. You are using a lot of brake and you have to take the openings to pass when they become available to you. We have had some success there in the past with the No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Avenger, finishing in the top ten a couple of times and hopefully we can translate that into a strong run this weekend.”

QUICK FACTS:

  • Riggs had his best finish of the year at the spring race in Martinsville when he drove the No. 10 to an eighth place finish.
  • He has one pole and has qualified in the top 15 in four of his seven career starts at the half-mile short track.
  • Riggs’ two best finishes at Martinsville came in the spring races of ’06 and ’07. He finished tenth and eighth respectively.
  • The No. 10 had a strong run at Lowe’s Motor Speedway last weekend. They ran in the top five before being caught up in a wreck due to a competitor’s flat tire.
  • Riggs has an average starting spot of 7.7 in the last three races he has qualified for (Dover, Kansas and Charlotte).
