Jeremy Mayfield on Michigan…“Michigan has been a pretty good track for me throughout the years, and I’ve usually been able to qualify pretty well there, so we’re looking forward to getting to the track. Last weekend we were really, really disappointed to not make the race. I mean, we’re disappointed whenever that happens, but we felt like we were turning a corner, and then to have to go home early was hard to take. But the fact is that there were teams that just plain beat us this time around. Some days we show up to the track and beat them and then there are days like last Friday when we just were a little behind the eight ball as soon as we unloaded the truck. I know [crew chief] David Hyder is capable of turning things around for us, and we have to be patient enough to let him do that. You have to keep reminding yourself that you need to be patient, especially since we’re closing in on the end of the first half of the season, but that’s what you have to do. We have the people in place to make this deal work now, and there’s going to be a little period of adjustment before we get everything to come together.”
