RUNNER-UP BUSCH: In the three NEXTEL Cup Series races he has completed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Busch has notched two top-three results. He finished second at his hometown track in 2005 and third last season.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 KELLOGG'S/CARQUEST CHEVROLET: (ON THE NEW CONFIGURATION OF LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDEWAY.) "I'm torn on my opinion of the new track surface. I think the new track is good, but we are going to be really, really fast. I also hold the opinion that we shouldn't race at a resurfaced track for three years. Race tracks need seasoning and a three-year hiatus would give it time to bake in the summer and take the 'black' out of the asphalt and give it some gray. A seasoned track can cut down on the high speeds and create some grooves making for good racing. So in three years, it will be a good track."

BUSCH: (ON THE TIRE SITUATION AT LAS VEGAS.) "Right now, that track is so fast that Goodyear can't make a tire hard enough to slow us down or withstand the speeds. The track is so fast and has so much grip, and it's hard to figure all that out. I'm confident Goodyear and NASCAR will do their best to ensure a safe race."

BUSCH: (ON GOOD FINISHES AT VEGAS.) "It's been a fun track for me, but now that it's completely different for all of us I don't know really what to expect. The Kellogg's/CARQUEST bunch has run very well there in years past, but I don't think you're going to see a very good race as far as passing goes. The key to the race will be starting up front and staying there."

BUSCH: (ON HIS INAUGURAL FAN CLUB EVENT.) "I'm really excited about my new fan club and spending some time with my core of fans in Vegas. We chose Vegas to roll out the Kyle Busch Fan Club because this is where I got started in my racing career and it means a lot to me. This week is going to be busy with media interviews, fan appearances and racing. I'm just looking forward to having a lot of fun with it all."
