Points Update: Sorenson and the Target team maintained 23rd in the overall NEXTEL Cup Series driver standings with their 10th-place finish in the last event at Talladega. The team is 133 points out of 20th with six races remaining in the 2007 season.
Chassis: Crew chief Jimmy Elledge has selected chassis #402 for this weekend’s race at LMS. This is the same car Sorenson used to capture his first-career NEXTEL Cup Series pole position at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 28. After starting from the pole and leading a total of 16 laps, Sorenson went on to take the checkered flag in fifth place. Sorenson also finished seventh with this chassis two weeks ago at Kansas Speedway.
Ladies’ Night Returns to CGRFS: After a successful debut in 2006, Ladies’ Night is returning this October to the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Concord, N.C., race shop Wednesday, October 10 (6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ET), with more fun festivities.
