KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 CARQUEST/KELLOGG'S MONTE CARLO SS: (ON RACING AT LOWE'S.) "I used to be a huge fan of this race track, but as of late since the repaving and the harder tires I haven't had much luck there at all. I guess you make your own luck."
BUSCH: (ON STARTING THE RACE IN THE DAYTIME AND ENDING AT NIGHT.) "Qualifying isn't one of my strong suits lately. We hope to qualify well, but if not then we will have to build some adjustability into the car by using some spring rubbers and other things. Anyone who is tough during the day and the night is going to be tough to beat, but if you had to pick you should shoot for being good at night. It's a 600-mile race, so it's a long, long night. I just want to finish one of these races, it seems like lately we have been wrecking too much."
BUSCH: (ON MEMORIAL DAY.) "I usually take some time to think about the men and women serving in the armed forces and protecting our freedom and rights. This year I believe the track is going to do a big deal to honor those folks and its going to be neat to participate in it. Kellogg's is involved and its great to have a sponsor who gives back to the community and, in this case, helps to salute the real American heroes."
BUSCH: (ON HIS REGIS AND KELLY APPEARANCE IN NEW ORLEANS ON TUESDAY MORNING.) "Regis and Kelly were awesome and I had a great time. I'd never been to New Orleans before. It was amazing to see the destruction from Hurricane Katrina, even two years after the storm. My heart went out to the people who have been affected. It's a part of their lives now. Those folks need ongoing help, so people should keep donating to the American Red Cross. New Orleans is still a beautiful place, but they are rebuilding and I don't know how long it will take. For me, it was hard to imagine how hard that must have been on the people who lived there."

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF OF THE NO. 5 CARQUEST/KELLOGG'S MONTE CARLO SS: (ON THE TRACK CONDITIONS IN THE "600.") "What we saw in the NEXTEL Open was what I think we will see at the beginning of the '600.' The track was cooling down and there were a ton of wrecks. These guys just didn't have grip. Kyle spun out in practice last week, but we were awesome in the race. I think the practices will be important, but if we can get through the first two hours until the sun goes down I think we should have a shot at it."
