KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 KELLOGG'S/CARQUEST CHEVROLET: (ON THE PRESTIGE OF THE DAYTONA 500.) "As a driver, winning the Daytona 500 is one of the things you definitely want to accomplish before you retire. There's so much hype and attention on this race. It's the Super Bowl."
BUSCH: (ON HIS "RELATIONSHIP" WITH DAYTONA): "This track and I have a love-hate relationship (LAUGHS). My rookie year we couldn't buy a break and wrecked almost every time out there. I couldn't find anyone to draft with me and I felt like I was just riding around twiddling my thumbs. You can have the best car, but if you can't find anyone to work with you, you're just out of luck. Last year we improved. We led some laps in the 500, but again couldn't hook up with anyone to stay up front. In the July race we redeemed ourselves. We finished second and it was like winning the race for us."
BUSCH: (ON HAVING A PLAN FOR THE DAYTONA 500.) "Hendrick Motorsports has the right package at Daytona. Jeff (Gordon) and Jimmie (Johnson) both got their wins here, so I think it's my turn. My plan is to give and take, work with whoever will work with me, and be there at the end. It's survival for the first 199 laps and it's the last lap that counts. Anything can happen in this race so we just need to focus on our race and be there at the end."

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF OF THE NO. 5 KELLOGG'S/CARQUEST CHEVROLET: (ON DAYTONA GOALS.) "Our goal for speedweeks is to win something. There are really four chances to put the No. 5 Chevy in victory lane and we feel like we have the stuff to do it. We're bringing the car we finished second with at Daytona in July, so if all goes well and we have a little luck, we will have a great shot at winning this race and keeping the Hendrick Motorsports streak alive."
GUSTAFSON: (WHAT ARE YOUR CHANCES TO WIN THE DAYTONA 500?) "I'm very optimistic about our chances because of the way we ran in the Shootout. Kyle ran his race and worked well with other drivers. He led the most laps and it's just unfortunate we got moved out of the way with six laps to go. Kyle made a great save and we ended up seventh. We ran exceptionally well and our car for the Daytona 500 is even better than the one we ran in the Shootout. We're going to play our cards right and show our hand when the time is right."
