California’s No. 36 Camry…The 360 OTC Racing team will utilize chassis No. 108 this weekend at California Speedway. This is the same car teammate Dave Blaney drove to a ninth-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway several weeks ago.
Mayfield’s Career Stats…Jeremy Mayfield hopes to make his 414th career NASCAR Nextel Cup Series start when he takes the green flag Sunday evening. Mayfield made his first career Cup Series start in October 1993 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and finished 12th (qualified 21st) in his first Cup Series start in Fontana, Calif., in 1997.
Mayfield in Fontana…Mayfield has made 12 starts on the two-mile oval during his Cup Series career and has started inside the top 10 on four occasions. In fact, Mayfield has never started outside the top 25 at California Speedway. His highest average start is at California. He has also earned four top-10 finishes and three top-five finishes at the track, including a victory in 2000.
BDR at California…Competitors driving Bill Davis Racing-owned cars have been racing at California Speedway since 1997 and have made 19 starts. Those drivers have posted two top-10 finishes in Cup Series competition.
Two Days of Testing…The 360 OTC Racing team spent Tuesday and Wednesday testing at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
California’s Broadcast Schedule…Qualifying for Sunday evening’s event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 31. The 250-lap event is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. ET Sunday, Sept. 2, and will broadcast LIVE on ESPN (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio.
