Nextel Cup Series --- California Speedway

Driver: Scott Riggs

SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
“I’m looking forward to the new look on our Charger this weekend with Sears Auto Center on board. California is a track that we had some strong runs at last year. I remember at one point all three of our cars were running one, two, and three with Kasey, Elliott, and myself. But in the spring this year it was a big disappointment because we were involved in a wreck early in the race and didn’t have a chance to come away with a good finish. Hopefully the

momentum from the strong weekend Gillett Evernham Motorsports had at Bristol last week will carry over to California this week.”

QUICK FACTS:

  • Riggs qualifies well at California Speedway. In seven starts he has started in the top-10 four times.
  • His average start at the 2-mile oval is 11.9.
  • After the results of the Valvoline/Stanley Tools performance last weekend at Bristol the No. 10 is now 109 points out of 36th spot in Owner points.
  • Riggs currently sits 37th in Nextel Cup owner points and will need to qualifying for this weekend’s race on time.
