KASEY KAHNE QUOTES:
“The Budweiser Shootout is exciting and fun. It has nothing to do with points, so there’s none of that pressure. We will go out, have fun and try to win a restrictor plate race. Everybody will be racing for the win. I’m very happy to be in the Shootout on Saturday night and not have to wait until the Daytona 500 to race.

“The Shootout also provides an opportunity under race conditions to find out how much we’ve improved the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger since the test in January.”

  • The best start for an Evernham Motorsports entry came in 2004 when the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger started from the pole. The No. 19 Dodge was out front for 10 laps, but an accident 12 laps from the finish eliminated the No. 19 Dodge from competition.
