“We were pleased with the performance of our Dodge Avenger at Bristol earlier this year. The car was fast in practice, qualified well and we were running in the top five throughout the first half of the race until we had a tire problem. That took us out of contention for a win, but we were very pleased with the performance of the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger in the first COT race.
“The Avenger (COT) has been better for us this year. I’m looking forward to going back and hopefully our first top 5 of the year. They have a new concrete surface, so that could make a difference. There will still be 43 cars on that high-banked, half-mile track. It’s always exciting.”

Kahne has qualified the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger in the top-10 in five of his seven career starts at the Bristol bull ring. His average start is 11.7.
Kahne is in his fourth season with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He posted a series-high six wins last year and earned a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
