Edwards on racing in the NEXTEL Open at Lowe’s Motor Speedway:
"The All-Star race is such an awesome experience and I’m really going to do everything in my power to have this chance again. One of our goals this year was to win a race in the Office Depot Fusion, but unfortunately we haven’t done that just yet. Now my goal is to either race my way in or be voted in by the fans. No matter what, I’m really looking forward to the race itself. It will be a lot like Saturday night dirt track racing with the format the way it is. Everything is a sprint to the end and you go 100% every lap and that's going to be fun. To win $1 million would be just awesome and as I said on Trackside Live Saturday, I will donate all of the money to the Victory Junction Gang Camp and Speedway Children’s Charities."
Crew Chief Bob Osborne on racing in the NEXTEL Open at Lowe’s Motor Speedway:
"We thought that we would have won a race and earned our way into the All-Star event. But unfortunately that is not the case. So we are going to do our best to get the Office Depot Ford in the race by winning the NEXTEL Open. I know this race is very important to Carl and I fee like we have as good a shot as anybody at winning the big prize. We are taking what we feel like is a good car, so hopefully everything will work out for us. I think Carl should do well in this format. We'll see what happens on Saturday night."
