KYLE BUSCH ON 'LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY': Kyle Busch is scheduled to make an appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly" when the popular morning talk show broadcasts from the French Quarter in New Orleans on May 22. It will mark Busch's second appearance on the program, as he was one of the drivers who appeared last September to celebrate the kickoff of the 2006 Chase for the NEXTEL Cup.
PIT CREW CHALLENGE WEDNESDAY: The seventh-seeded No. 5 Kellogg's/CARQUEST team will participate in Wednesday night's NASCAR NEXTEL Pit Crew Challenge at Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, N.C. The elite members of the over-the-wall team led by pit crew coach Mark Mauldin are D.J. Richardson, Leomister, Mass., front-tire changer; J.D. Holcolmb, Whitesburg, Ky., front-tire carrier; Rick Pigeon, Fairfax, Vt., jackman; Josh Kirk, Chambersburg, Pa., rear-tire changer; Jason Jones, Rhine, Ga., rear-tire carrier; Brad Pickens, Greer, S.C., gas man; and Jason Dalrymple, Concord, N.C., catch-can man.
GUSTAFSON IN THE CREW CHIEF CHALLENGE: Alan Gustafson, crew chief of the No. 5 Kellogg's/CARQUEST Chevy, will participate in the inaugural Kobalt Tools Crew Chief Race at Lowe's Motor Speedway prior to Saturday night's NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge. Gustafson will pilot a Thunder Roadster decaled in the Kellogg's/CARQUEST paint scheme. The race will last approximately 30 minutes, including two qualifying heats and a feature on the quarter-mile oval on the frontstretch at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The event will be televised by SPEED Channel.
CAR SELECTION FOR THE ALL-STAR CHALLENGE: Gustafson has made Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 388 the Monte Carlo SS of choice for this weekend's NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge. It is the same car Busch drove at Texas before an accident in final practice forced the team to use its backup. The Chevy has been rebuilt from the windshield forward.
RACING TRUCKS: Busch will pilot the No. 51 Chevy Silverado for Billy Ballew Motorsports in Friday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Busch won the event in 2005 and 2006, leading a combined 173 of 270 possible laps.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 KELLOGG'S/CARQUEST MONTE CARLO SS: (ON THE KIND OF RACING THAT TAKES PLACE IN THE ALL-STAR CHALLENGE.) "It's a free-for-all, really. Everyone goes out there and drives like there's no tomorrow. There's no points and we usually don't take our '600' car, so if we wreck going for broke then we wreck. When there's a million dollars on the line, no one really wants to finish second."
BUSCH: (ON THE POTENTIAL FOR WINNING THE ALL-STAR RACE.) "It would be great if I could win the All-Star Challenge. It's really prestigious and, more importantly, it's a preview for what's going to happen the following week in the '600.' I want to win it. Hendrick Motorsports has won it a few times with Jeff (Gordon), Jimmie (Johnson) and Terry (Labonte), so I think its time for the No. 5 team to take back the trophy."
BUSCH: (ON THE INTENSITY OF THE ALL-STAR RACE.) "It's an intensity that we really don't see normally. You see it at the Budweiser Shootout and then at the all-star race. It's the biggest payout besides the Daytona 500 so I think some of the drivers leave their conservativeness at home."
BUSCH: (ON THE PIT CREW CHALLENGE.) "I like it because it's all about the team. We focus on the driver in the media and it's really the guys behind the scenes that get things done. Races are won and lost in the pits."

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF OF THE NO. 5 KELLOGG'S/CARQUEST MONTE CARLO SS: (ON RACING IN THE CREW CHIEF CHALLENGE.) "I think this is a fun start to an exciting two weeks in Charlotte. The track decided to get some crew chiefs together to race each other on the quarter-mile oval track before the all-star race. I heard there has been some smack talking around the garage. I think I can beat at least the Hendrick Motorsports crew chiefs (LAUGHS). Steve Letarte (Jeff Gordon's crew chief) thinks he can beat me, but I think I have an advantage -- I'm a smaller guy. We can't get too crazy because shortly after there's a million dollars on the line (in the all-star race) and we want to take that check home with us this year."
