“The No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge team has only one goal Saturday night – win the Nextel Open and make it into the All-Star Challenge. Even though finishing in second place will still get us into the big show, we’re completely focused on winning the Open. It’s all or nothing.

“The best thing about this event is the race is in Charlotte. Our crews are on the road so much, but this week most of them get to stay at home with their families. Many family members come to the event. The crews play a key role in the racing and it’s good their families have the opportunity to see them in action.”

QUICK FACTS

Sadler made five consecutive appearances in the All-Star event, 2001-05.

His best finish came in 2005 when he started fourth and finished second in all three segments.

Evernham Motorsports has been represented in the All-Star event every year since Ray Evernham launched the return of Dodge to Nextel Cup in 2001.

Sadler competed in the Nextel Open last year, finishing 12th.
