JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, No. 42 TEXACO/HAVOLINE DODGE: “They were pretty good. I tried not to slow down. It’s a bit of a shame, because only the first few cars really picked up a lot of lap time than everybody else did. I think we’re okay. I think we got a good racecar, and we’ll see what happens.”
AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 84 RED BULL TOYOTA: “I overdrove way too much. The car was loose, but I didn’t help it by the way I drove it. So I’m not really happy with the lap, but we’re in. I’ll be a lot happier when I wake up tomorrow.” ON SATURDAY’S PRACTICE SESSION: “The first thing I need to work on is just getting better at the race track. I’m pretty confident we’ll have a good car. We’ll have to keep fine tuning on it, and figure out the right spots to run. But more than anything, I just need to get better around this place.”
PAUL MENARD, No. 15 MENARDS/JOHNS MANVILLE CHEVROLET: “The car drove better than it did in practice. We picked up three tenths, but it’s still not good enough. I was a little bit loose back to the throttle. There’s some speed out there somewhere, I just didn’t know how to get it.”
DAVID RAGAN, No. 6 AAA FORD: “Pretty poorly. I wish we could’ve picked up, but we run what we run in practice, just a real, real slow lap. We’ll have a lot of work to do on Sunday.”
