PREVIEW: KYLE BUSCH (NO. 5 CARQUEST CHEVROLET)
VENUE: TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY (1.5-MILE TRI-OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES (RACE 34 OF 36)
EVENT: SUNDAY, NOV. 5, 2006 (334 LAPS, 501 MILES)
CARQUEST BRINGS GOOD LUCK: Sunday will mark the final outing of 2006 for CARQUEST Auto Parts on the hood of the No. 5 Chevrolet. The CARQUEST paint scheme has finished seventh at Darlington, S.C., third at Joliet, Ill., and 12th at the July event at Long Pond, Pa. Beginning in 2007, CARQUEST Auto Parts will move to a co-primary sponsorship on the car, teaming with longtime Hendrick Motorsports partner Kellogg's.
LOOKING FOR TEXAS IMPROVEMENT: Usually successful on 1.5-mile race tracks, Kyle Busch has never posted a finish better than 15th at Texas Motor Speedway in three NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series starts. Crew chief Alan Gustafson is hoping to change that with his selection of Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 349 as the team's primary option this weekend. The car finished sixth at Lowe's Motor Speedway last month.
LOGGING THE MILES: Busch will once again attempt the NASCAR trifecta this weekend, running the NEXTEL Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series at Texas. The last time Busch ran all three circuits was in August at Bristol, Tenn., where he logged a trio of top-10 finishes.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 CARQUEST CHEVROLET: (ON HIS PERFORMANCE AT TEXAS.) "We haven't had the finishes we've wanted at Texas. We had our best run going in April, running seventh on the last lap when Clint Boyer got loose and caused us to lose about eight spots (due to contact). I've had no luck there in a Cup car. We've been able to run pretty good, but I've never led a lap or been able to finish well. Our goal this weekend is to capitalize."
BUSCH: (ON RUNNING THE TRUCK SERIES.) "I was 16 years old when I made my first truck start at Texas in 2001, starting fifth and finishing 25th because of a wreck. Texas is fast in the trucks, and last year I finished third there with a good solid finish."
BUSCH: (ON RUNNING ALL THREE SERIES THIS WEEKEND.) "Some people have asked me why I want to tire myself out and run all three races this weekend. Really, the bottom line is because I love to race. But I do have a hidden agenda because I really want to learn as much as I can about Texas. Sometimes you can learn things on Friday and Saturday that help you for Sunday."
BUSCH: (ON TERRY LABONTE'S FINAL RACE.) "I hope someday to be like Terry Labonte. He's calm and cool, and has everything together. Who else can get wrecked by Dale Earnhardt at Bristol and then go fishing with him? Everyone likes Terry and he will be missed. I wish I had the chance to race with him more."

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF OF THE NO. 5 CARQUEST CHEVROLET: (ON TERRY LABONTE'S FINAL RACE.) "I owe Terry Labonte the credit for the crew chief and the person I am today. He was, and is, an instrumental part of my career and I'll always consider him one of my greatest friends. He taught me a lot about racing and life. Terry is responsible for laying the foundation of the No. 5 team and its success. I can't put into words the amount of respect I have for him. He's a legend and I'm extremely grateful for having the chance to work with him."
