Samsung/Radioshack 500 - Scott Wimmer Notes

Scott Wimmer 2006 Event Preview
Morgan-McClure Motorsports (MMM) No. 4 Aero Exhaust Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
Race 7 of 36 – Samsung Radio Shack 500
Texas Motor Speedway

Morgan-McClure Ride
Chassis No.: Primary: 87 Back-Up: 83

  • Chassis No. 87 was last raced at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, running in 20th position until fuel mileage forced a gas-n-go stop with four laps to go

    Scott Wimmer Quotes:
“It’s nice to be going back to Texas, especially with this being their 10th year anniversary. It’s becoming a great track for the drivers and for the fans. The first problems we had here were fixed right away and we are starting to see two and three groove racing now with the ability to run right on the bottom or up next to the wall. Fans and drivers both enjoy racing at Texas Motor Speedway because the cars can pass now, it’s not a one groove race track. Eddie Gossage is one of the great track promoters and does a lot for the drivers and crews and just makes it a great weekend for everyone.”

    Chris Carrier Quotes:
“Texas is a very fast race track. For the level of speed the cars run, it’s very narrow and the margin of error is very small. We have to put a high focus on qualifying for the event. However, we’re taking the same car we ran at Atlanta. We had a good car all weekend and when we left there the driver confidence in the car was high. We feel that could pay dividends at Texas.”
