SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
“I really look forward to getting back to short track racing this weekend at Richmond. That’s such a great track. You can run two wide on it all the way around. We have a strong ValvoIine/Stanley Tools Dodge we are bringing. It tested well there a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t had much success at Richmond since I ran there in the Busch Series, and I want to change that this weekend.”
“I feel good about the progress of this Valvoline Evernham Racing Team. We are still a new team and going through some growing pains. I made a mistake at Phoenix and the car got away from me which cost us a good finish. We have the occasional hiccup in the pits or miscue during practice, but overall I am very proud of this team and the progress they have made.”
RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:
“We have had several good races recently and started to live up to the potential of this team. Our pit crew has really turned things around and started to give us some great stops. Our cars are to the point now where we can go to the track and run top five/top ten week in and week out. We just have to keep our focus on getting those top finishes. Talladega was a good race for us. We put ourselves in position to finish well, we did, and I am very proud of Scott and this team for their effort. However, the “big one” happened right in front of us so we could have just as easily wrecked. That’s how quickly things can go bad in a specific race, but if we keep building our cars and hitting our marks at the track the way we have been doing, then we are going to achieve our goals.”
