SADLER, PEDIGREE® READY FOR TOP-10 RETURN IN PHOENIX

CHARLOTTE, NC (April 18, 2006) – After a weekend off, Elliott Sadler and the #38 Pedigree® Team return to action at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) in Saturday’s Subway Fresh 500. Sadler notched a pair of 11th place finishes at PIR during the previous season and feels confident about his return to the one-mile track after a strong run at Martinsville Speedway earlier this month.

Quoting M&M’S Driver Elliott Sadler:
“I’m definitely looking forward to Phoenix. It’s going to be a busy weekend for me, running both the Cup and Busch cars but looking forward to getting back to racing after a weekend off. This was a good track for us last season. We finished 11th here in both races, just barely missed a couple of top-10 finishes. We’d be happy if we could walk away here with a top-10. We felt confident we were going to get a top-10 out of Texas two weeks ago but we had a problem there at the end and didn’t finish, so we’ve got to redeem ourselves a little here this weekend.”

“This stretch of races coming up before Charlotte is very important, not just for us, but I think for all the teams. Charlotte is where you sit back and take a look at the first part of your season, give your team a grade for how you’ve done so far. We have four races before Charlotte, at all different types of tracks, and we really want to step it up and put ourselves back in the top-10 in points. Everything is starting to get spread out points wise so you really want to make a push now and not get too far behind.”

“We feel like we can go to Charlotte in May and be very competitive. To us it’s a great benchmark race. We think we’re going to go to Phoenix and run very well because we ran very well at Martinsville. We think we’re going to go to Talladega and have a very good race car because we ran good at Daytona. These are all important races for us.”
