KASEY KAHNE QUOTES
“We’ve accomplished the goal we set for this team at the start of the season – make the Chase. That’s the only way you can win the Nextel Cup. Now, it’s the start of another season as we have our sights set on doing everything we can to challenge for the championship in the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger.
It’s awesome that Evernham Motorsports has had a car in the Chase all three years. We didn’t do as well as we wanted in those 10 races the last two years. I think this year will be different. Although we had some problems after a great start this year, I think we’re ready to peak if we haven’t already. We’ve had a win and three top-10 finishes in the last four races. The lone finish outside the top 10 was at Bristol where the No. 9 Dodge was 12th.
It’s important to peak at the right time. Now is the right time. We expect to run strong, be consistent and finish all the races. That doesn’t mean we won’t race as hard as we can for the win. We will go after the win if we have the racecar capable of doing it, but we’ll also want to race smart. New Hampshire is the first stop."
