Sylvania 300 - Brian Vickers Notes

PREVIEW: BRIAN VICKERS (NO. 25 GMAC CHEVROLET)
VENUE: NEW HAMPSHIRE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY (ONE-MILE OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES (RACE 27 OF 36)
EVENT: SUNDAY, SEPT. 17 (300 LAPS, 300 MILES)

'25' CONSISTENT AT NEW HAMPSHIRE: During the last three trips to New Hampshire International Speedway, the No. 25 GMAC Racing team has led a combined 52 laps en route to finishes of 17th, 13th and 11th. In fact, the team led laps in each of those events, racking up 34 in July 2006, eight in September 2005 and 10 in July 2005.

VICKERS GUNNING FOR FOURTH POLE: Driver Brian Vickers captured his third career NEXTEL Cup Series pole position when the NASCAR tour visited New Hampshire in July 2005. His other two first-place starts came in September 2004 at Fontana, Calif., and Richmond, Va. Vickers qualified third for the July event at the one-mile NHIS oval.

CHASSIS 295: GMAC Racing will call upon Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 295 for this weekend's 300-lapper at New Hampshire. The car has only seen action twice this season, earning a 13th-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway in April and a 17th-place result at New Hampshire in July.

BRIAN VICKERS, DRIVER OF THE NO. 25 GMAC CHEVROLET: (ON THE TEAM'S GOALS FOR THE FINAL 10 RACES.) "Our approach isn't going to change and it's still the same as Week One. All of us on the GMAC Racing team want to win a race and we've come close before, but haven't reached that goal yet. We had a great car at New Hampshire in July, only to be caught up in an accident not of our own doing. Maybe this time around we can get the job done, we'll just have to see."

VICKERS: (IS IT DISAPPOINTING NOT BEING IN THE CHASE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND SEEING YOUR THREE TEAMMATES IN IT?) "The goal at the beginning of the season was to get all four Hendrick teams in the Chase. Since we couldn't get four teams inside the top-10, I guess three is the next best thing. Obviously, those guys did what they needed to do during the first 26 races and we didn't. So, at this point, we do all we can to support the three Hendrick teams while we go after a win."
