Harvick and #29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge
head to New Hampshire International Speedway
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (July 11, 2006) – For the second weekend in a row GM Goodwrench driver Kevin Harvick is set to feature a #29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge event. Sunday’s running of the Lenox Industrial Tools 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS) will be the fourth of 12 selected races in this national promotion. Harvick’s last two Expertise Challenge races have been exciting with a third place finish in Dover, Del., and then a fourth place finish last weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. The Bakersfield, Calif. native heads to NHIS with five top-10 finishes in 10 Cup Series starts and looks to continue to close in on his first Expertise Challenge win. He has a 14.6 average finish at NHIS and has led for a total 68 laps.
“We were close in Dover and had another strong run last weekend at Chicagoland,” said Harvick, referring to his last two Expertise Challenge tries. “The performance of our racecars has been up every week, so if we can keep the mistakes down then everything should be fine. We hope to make GM Goodwrench give away all 29 Grand Prizes by the end of the year.”
Twenty-nine lucky fans will receive an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche if Harvick can win 2 of the 12 selected NASCAR Nextel Cup races. GM Goodwrench will also set up a $200,000 scholarship fund to encourage young men and women to pursue careers as automotive technicians after the two wins occur.
Fans can join the challenge now by visiting the Chevy display at select NASCAR events or a Chevrolet dealership, to get a ticket with an official promotion code. The next #29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge race will take place at Michigan International Speedway on August 20th.

What’s your mentality going into the final stretch?
“I think you have to do what got you there and do what’s best for each week. Just race as hard as you can. We’ve had a few things go wrong and fortunately our cars have been running good enough where we can still be in the points contention and still be where we need to be. Our cars should keep running good every week and if we can just keep the crazy things from happening and making mistakes, then we should be fine.”
What's unique about the racetrack?
“It’s just one of those places where you have to get through the center of the corner and get up off the corner wide open. That makes it really hard to get through the center of the corner, turn good like you need to, and get up off the corner under full power without getting loose. Passing is harder there than at most places because it’s so hard to make your car work getting up off the corner. That makes track position probably the most important thing.”
