Lenox Industrial Tools 300 - Brian Vickers Notes

PREVIEW: BRIAN VICKERS (NO. 25 GMAC CHEVROLET)
VENUE: NEW HAMPSHIRE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY (1.058-MILE OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES (RACE 19 OF 36)
EVENT: SUNDAY, JULY 16 (300 LAPS, 317.4 MILES)

'25' EXTENDS STREAK: With a 13th-place performance at Chicagoland Speedway, the GMAC Racing team extended its streak of top-20 results to five dating back to Pocono Raceway in June. During the stretch, the team has an average finishing position of 13.2 in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series competition.

VICKERS FIGURING OUT NHIS: In his first two NEXTEL Cup starts at New Hampshire International Speedway, Brian Vickers, driver of the No. 25 GMAC Chevrolet, posted finishes of 22nd and 34th, yielding an average result of 28th. Since then, something has clicked for the 22-year-old Vickers, who produced finishes of 11th and 13th during last year's two events at NHIS for a 12th-place average.

SEEKING ANOTHER POLE: Vickers captured his third career NEXTEL Cup pole position when the NASCAR tour visited New Hampshire in July 2005. His other two first-place starts came in 2004, at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in May and California Speedway in September.

NEW HAMPSHIRE PREP: Last month, all four Hendrick Motorsports teams -- Nos. 5, 24, 25, 48 -- spent two days testing at The Milwaukee Mile in preparation for this weekend's NEXTEL Cup Series race at New Hampshire.

CHASSIS 295: GMAC Racing will call upon Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 295 for this weekend's 300-lapper at New Hampshire. The car has only seen action once this season, earning a 13th-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway in April.

BRIAN VICKERS, DRIVER OF THE NO. 25 GMAC CHEVROLET: (ON HIS TEAM'S CONSISTENCY AS OF LATE.) "Everyone's been working hard for a long time to establish some consistency on a week-to-week basis and I think the GMAC Racing team has done that as of late. Our qualifying runs have been real strong in the last month or so and I know we've run better than some of our race results indicate. It's something I hope we can continue and improve upon."

VICKERS: (ON HOW THE TEAM'S TEST AT MILWAUKEE WILL BENEFIT THEM AT NEW HAMPSHIRE.) "There aren't many tracks that are similar to New Hampshire, so having two full days at Milwaukee to help us prepare is going to provide a lot of benefits. Given the efforts made during the test and the information gathered, it shouldn't be a surprise to see all four Hendrick Motorsports teams up front at Loudon."

VICKERS: (ON JUAN PABLO MONTOYA'S PLANS TO COMPETE IN THE NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES.) "I think it's awesome. Having a Formula One driver with his credentials join NASCAR says a lot for our sport and it will further help to solidify NASCAR at the international level."
