NOTES & QUOTES
Kluever will be making his second NEXTEL Cup start this weekend at MIS. He will be driving the No. 06 3M Ford Fusion for Roush Racing.
The No. 06 team will be taking chassis #RK-276 to MIS. This is the same car Kluever raced in Chicago in July.
Todd Kluever on Michigan:
"I am really looking forward to my second Cup start, especially at Michigan. That track is so wide and smooth it makes it easy to pass anywhere. Although our results from the Chicago race aren't very impressive, we learned a lot as a team and I learned a lot as a driver that weekend. I had only tested the Cup car once before that race, so we really used the Chicago race as another test session. One thing I learned from hitting the commitment cone on pit road is that it takes a lot more to slow down a Cup car coming on to pit road for a green-flag pit stop than it does to slow down a Busch car.
"I feel like I am more prepared for my second race and this team has worked together more so I think this weekend will go much smoother for everyone."
Crew Chief Frank Stoddard on racing at Michigan International
Speedway:
“We’re taking the same car we raced at Chicago last month. Todd did a great job at Chicago since he ran the entire race and gained a ton of valuable experience. We learned a lot as a team and I think that will show this weekend at Michigan.”
