Coca-Cola 600 - Scott Riggs Notes

Scott Riggs
No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Charger with “Cars” Paint Scheme
Lowe’s Motor Speedway Fast Facts

Driver: Scott Riggs
Team Director: Rodney Childers
Car Director: Dave Bryant
Engineer: Kevin Kidd
Team/Owner: Valvoline Evernham Racing
Designated team owner, Jim Rocco
Sponsors: Valvoline, Stanley Tools, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper

Chassis No. 130 – Driven to a seventh place finish at Texas in April.

SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
“We had a good test in Kentucky Speedway this week and I think we learned some things that will even translate to racing at Lowe’s this weekend. Winning the Open last weekend was definitely a credit to all these guys on the Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge, but getting caught a lap down in the All-Star race kept us from being able to show our hand. Now everybody is anxious to prove ourselves all over again.”

“It’s also pretty cool that we get to run the “Cars” paint scheme this weekend. My son Layne (turns four years old in June) and I have really been looking forward to watching the premiere on Friday at the track.”

RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:
“We are taking Chassis 130 for the 600 and I believe this is the best car in the shop. The previous two times we have taken it to the track, Texas and Las Vegas, it has been in Stanley colors. We pulled those decals off and wrapped it with the “Cars” paint scheme for this weekend. This is not the car we won the Open with last weekend, but we are sticking with our original game plan of taking this one to the 600 because when we compared the two chassis by side at our tire tests, 130 was better.”

QUICK FACTS:

  • Scott Riggs will drive the “Cars” paint scheme this weekend to celebrate the Disney Pixar movie’s premiere at Lowe’s Motor Speedway Friday night. The Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge will carry the characters of Lightning McQueen and The King on the hood and quarter panels
  • Riggs later brought the Valvoline Dodge Charger home 10th out of 20 cars in the All-Star Challenge last Saturday night.
  • Scott Riggs participated in both Goodyear tire tests at Lowe’s this spring.
  • The No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Charger has been running at the end of all 10 Cup races in which it has competed this season as well as both exhibition races (Shootout and All-Star).
