Robby Gordon’s Quotes on the Coca-Cola 600
“The whole No. 7 Jim Beam Black team is pretty excited for this weekend,” Gordon said. “After last weekend’s showing in the Nextel Open, passing five cars on the first lap alone, we should be a contender again this weekend. We are bringing the same car that we ran in the Open back to the Coca-Cola 600.

“The biggest thing to learn from last week is how the tires are going to react to the new surface and that fuel mileage will probably play a factor. Since the race starts during the day and ends at night, we’re hoping that we can stay on top of the changes in the racing surface throughout the race.

“Our intermediate program has really been coming along lately. With a good run last weekend and the confidence in the cars that Greg [Erwin] and the guys at the shop have been giving me lately, I feel really confident that we can make it happen again this weekend and take the No. 7 Jim Beam Black Chevy to the front.”
