JEREMY MAYFIELD QUOTES
“The No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger we had for the all-star race was probably the best car I’ve had all year. Unfortunately, we got caught up in an accident, but it gives us confidence going back for the 600. The 600 is a totally different race. The all-star race was a Saturday night feature, a page from short-track racing. This is a marathon. We start in the afternoon and end at night. In the past, the big deal was the changing track conditions from day to night. Now, it’s the new surface, the hard tire compound and a smaller fuel cell. Teams will be doing a lot of adjusting. Some with be able to maintain a setup that works and keeps the car under control. Others won’t. The key will be to keep our Dodge Charger on the track and in contention for the final 100 miles. That’s the position we want to put ourselves in.”
