Scott Riggs No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Charger
Infineon Raceway Fast Facts

Driver: Scott Riggs
Team Director: Rodney Childers
Car Director: Dave Bryant
Engineer: Kevin Kidd
Team Owner: Valvoline Evernham Racing
Designated team owner, Jim Rocco
Sponsors: Valvoline, Stanley Tools, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper

Chassis No. 118- This is the same chassis that teammate Jeremy Mayfield drove to a seventh place finish with at Infineon last year.

SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
“Our Valvoline/Stanley Tools Team has shown that they can run well at almost any track this season. We have had good finishes at places like Texas, Pocono, and Martinsville and that gives us a lot of confidence in the upcoming months. But when it comes to the road courses, those are the ones that I worry about, because I don’t have much experience on those tracks.”

“At Evernham Motorsports we looked at our road course program and saw an area we could improve on. That’s why we have Boris racing in some Busch races for us this year and participating in test session with myself, Jeremy, and Kasey. We had a great test session at VIR the other week. We took a two seater as well as our primaries for the upcoming races at Sonoma and Watkins Glenn. I know it really helped us out. I had worked with Boris some when I drove for MBV and it really helped me out. Hopefully it will have the same effect this year.”

RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:
“Our test at VIR went very well. Having the two seater car is a huge help. Scott rode with Boris a good bit and then Boris road with Scott a lot too. They were on the radio together and in constant communication so it’s a great way to sharpen Scott’s skills on the road course. Our goal at Infineon is to stay on the track all weekend and hopefully finish in the top 15. That would be a good way for us to bounce back after what was a disappointing run in Michigan.”

QUICK FACTS:

  • Scott Riggs qualified 16th and was running in 17th position on the final lap at Infineon last year, before running out of fuel in Turn 11 and settling for a 24th-place finish.
  • Riggs and teammates Kasey Kahne and Jeremy Mayfield participated in a road course test session with Boris Said at Virginia International Raceway on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week in preparation for this weekend’s race at Infineon Raceway.
  • Riggs finished 29th at Michigan International Speedway last weekend after fighting a loose handling condition in the Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge for most of the race.
  • The No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Charger has been running at the end of all 14 Cup races in which it has competed this season as well as both exhibition races (Shootout and All-Star).
