LEICHT BRICKYARD NOTES-
Stephen Leicht, nineteen years of age, will attempt to become the youngest driver to compete in the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Sunday. Leicht will be attempting to qualify for his second NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event. Two weeks ago, Leicht made his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series debut at Pocono Raceway where he qualified 36th and finished 33rd.

LEICHT’S Q&A-
You have the chance to become a piece of history at such a celebrated track, you must be excited.
“Obviously Robert Yates Racing and CitiFinancial are giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and I want to make the most of it. To have the chance to be in the record books at a track that I grew up dreaming of racing on is more than I could ask for. I was thrilled when Robert and Doug told me that I was getting to test at Indianapolis. Then they came back and told me that I was going to get a chance to qualify for the Brickyard. I couldn’t believe it.”

How are you handling your fast paced schedule lately?
“I’ve definitely been going in circles lately. I haven’t had a chance to sit down and think about what has been happening. I’m fortunate enough to have this opportunity and I want to appreciate every bit of it, even the crazy schedule. When I get into that race car it makes everything that I’ve been doing worth it!”

REUNITED- Raymond Fox will be handling the crew chief duties this weekend for the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford. Leicht and Fox first paired up in 2005 when Leicht made his NASCAR Busch Series debut at Memphis Motorsports Park, where he finished 13th.

CHASSIS INFORMATION-The CitiFinancial team is taking chassis 69 to the Brickyard. This is the same chassis that RYR tested at the Brickyard where Leicht was six-fastest among drivers.

PRESS CONFERENCE- Leicht will be available to the media on Friday, August 4th at 10:30 am in the Economaki Press Conference Room at IMS.

LEICHT LENDS A HELPING HAND- Leicht will participate in the 5th Annual Village Pantry Jeff Gordon Bowling Tournament on Thursday, August 3. All proceeds will go to the Jeff Gordon Foundation to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

DID YOU KNOW- Leicht flew from the Chicago race on Sunday to the Indianapolis test in early July with the other No. 38 and No. 88 team members without anything but the clothes on his back. Robert Yates did not inform Leicht that he would be traveling to Indy until Saturday afternoon. He had to purchase additional clothes and items during the duration of his three day stay.
