Robby Gordon’s Quotes on Homestead
Going into the final race of the season, what can you tell us about your second season as a Nextel Cup owner and driver?
““This will be the first time as a team that we are coming into the final race of the season with a guaranteed starting spot in next year’s Daytona 500. We expected to be at this point, but it’s still reassuring that we, as a single-car team, are able to compete week-in-and-week-out with the four and five-car teams. Nextel Cup racing is the most competitive form of motorsports in the world and to be able to have great sponsors and great cars to compete in is a dream. Our goal right now is to go into 2007 with momentum. We’ll have new sponsors and a new manufacturer helping us to achieve our largest goal, win a championship.”
Crew Chief Greg Erwin’s Quotes on Homestead
“We’re bringing No. 104 which was our Atlanta car a couple of weeks ago. We put a lot of new stuff on the car for the race, so it will be somewhat of a question mark. Our test at Homestead went really, really well though, so I have a lot of confidence in the setup we’re bringing. Overall, we like Homestead as a group. I know Robby likes it. Homestead has a little more room to move around and find the right line for what’s comfortable for him and the car, like Michigan or California. Hopefully things will go great this weekend and we’ll cross our fingers that we’ll be able to climb back up in the points before things are all over with.”
